Okay, we're not paid for this but we're so indulged in it as of the moment. The book itself, audio book and now the miniseries. My husband read The Pillars Of The Earth first and I would be the next but the TV series started and spoiled my suppose to be reading. Boogs downloaded the Audio version so I'm now in chapter 3 while we wait for the 5th of the 8th episodes to watch.
Let me first finish the audio before I tell you more about it. All I can say for now is, I can tolerate Dylan's crying for wanting to take the iPod for the games. I have not given in yet and kept the iPod for myself hehehe... which is a miracle really because this little boy rules the house.
Who says only women can be this sentimental? REAL men do too! Here's a video my husband made last year and had posted it on his blog's sidebar. He may not believe me, but million words unspoken had all been said, merely with the effort of making this montage. I love him more as we count the years of growing together. Happy 13th Year Anniversary my Rascal!
Why take everything you see? You have nothing left to squander If you keep pushing me away You have no one left to love
You throw it all away those ties you went and suffered for you cause disaster and flounder flounder flounder flounder
Why take everything you see? You have nothing left to squander If you keep pushing me away You have no one left to do love
your less than you should be why run so hard to finish last you caused contentment and i wonder wonder wonder wonder
Why take everything you see? You have nothing left to squander If you keep pushing me away You have no one left to looooove, looooove Why squander squander squander squander
Why take everything you see? You have nothing left to squander If you keep pushing me away You'll have no one left to, no one left to love
Pardon me ARA(how's that for a shortie?)friends for finding the same entry everytime you drop by. Its the "gray matter(like I ever had one) short circuit". Its noted though that since a month from now would be the yearly New Years resolution, more bloggable thoughts, I will try to include.
For now, here are some of our space fillers but let me first thank you for clicking this site every now and then... hope you keep on doing so.
CIAO PHILIPPINES!!!
One more day and off we go!
As I told Mommy Kengs, the new organizer and probably the owner (aminin hehehe) of a new OFW magazine, that my brain flew ahead in the Philippines. I can't work on the first assignment she was giving. She asked me to write for her and take note, its "one-oh-oh" per "WORDS"(figure it out...laugh-laugh). I told her I'll catch up on next year's articles, if the offer is still available...
Another sign that my brain is not really functioning, our luggage is only 25% done. Power of the universe help me... I'm seeing "intense" packing later today hahaha. Yeah, I'm losing it... that's called excitement, if I may...
IMAGE CREDIT: SMITHFIELD ELEMENTARY LUKIE'S HOMEWORK Poor Lukie, the teacher will email us his homework. Our son has to work on it daily or weekly. The teacher asked Lukie first if we have a computer in the Philippines. And, my son decided on his own that we have.
CNN HERO
Updating our previous post here's the video of one inspirational man.
PHILIPPINES - FOREX CARGO INC.
We're very much satisfied with Forex Cargo Inc's remarkable service. They worked wonders for our box to be delivered on the dot. Divine Geraldo, the company's Costumer Care Representative, was very kind to answer my email and I know, he personally made sure that we will be going up to Baguio City with the parcel. Again, thank you very much to Forex and more power!
As always, while the blogsphere had moved on and are done writing about the latest buzz, I'm still picking up on the topic 3 weeks ago. Maybe you've already voted or watched the inspiring story of Efren PeƱaflorida » . The founder of theDynamic Team Company, a group of youngsters using a pushcart stuffed with books, a built in blackboard and other educational materials to teach street children or the underprevilaged who can't go to school.
Click the link below and lets give him the recognition he deserves. He said he is not after the merits but for the hope that other people will do it too.
"Voting continues until Thursday, November 19, 2009 (6 a.m. ET). There is no limit on the number of times you may vote for the Hero of the Year", according to CNN.
It hurts and we feel helpless as we watch all the videos and pictures of the devastating and tragic aftermath of the recent typhoon that struck the Cordilleras, our home in the Philippines. Aside from this flu, maybe thinking of my hometown, is one of the things that is not making me sleep.
I wanted to write a long entry for this but my eyes are burning and I can feel the fever taking effect. For now, I'll leave you with the videos taken by the
Cafe By The Ruins, a cafe and restaurant in Baguio who had been updating us at Facebook. Our forever gratitude to their heroic help to our place in Tublay Benguet. They even reached as far as Labey, the boundry between Bokod and Tublay, by foot.
Do you have it too? I mean, when you hear a certain song and you're reminded of an event, a place, something or someone? This song always takes me back 15 years ago when we were taking my cousin, Manang Susan, to the airport. She was to go back here in Italy from a short vacation in the Philippines.
I was at the back seat of the car as we pass by and seeing the stupendous sun set of Manila Bay. "What A Wonderful World" was being played on the car's radio. Every word from Louis Armstrong's song was drawing out tears I was trying to hide from everyone. Specially from my cousin who'll soon be boarding the plane. Its heavy enough to say goodbye and I don't want to make it worst for her.
What really made me cry that time were the street children begging from cars stopping by. Not that I pity them or the danger they were willing to risk. It was their courage and will to pursue that danger in order to survive made me think, they too believe that this is a "WONDERFUL WORLD" after all.Who are we, whom all blessed with homes, parents providing for us and had all the opportunities of being a child, to disagree?
My son Lukie requested me to put this on my blog. He watched it from our digital channel "QOOB". He told me to search for "teeth". I just watched it now and posted it immediately...
Saw this video on the forum I usually frequent. I fell on the same spot and if I remember it right, Olive, my sister's friend did too. Wright Park will always be a special place to me. Its where I found my first love - Red Hawk, the horse I ride bareback hahaha... And yes, its also where I met my other love, the father of my kids and my Rascal who once said 12 years ago that he is not my prince in shining armour but my dragon slayer(agasem that).
Speaking of anniversaries, we had our 12th year last April 21. We thought its our 13th but we checked out the first card he gave and its only the 12th. I always believed that its a must to mark the day when two different personalities unite. Sometimes it could be exhausting to find that point to agree as well as that grace to disagree everyday. Living with someone who doesn't always syncronize with your thinking, having of course a mind of his own, requires a great deal of patience and loads of understanding. A year added will always be a miracle and a labor of love.
You have to be obssessed with the "comforts" of your COMFORT ROOM to be the owner of this restaurant lol... Here's Modern Toilet, "a new restaurant in Hong Kong designed with stylish acrylic toilet seats" as CNN described it.
I'm posting what the singer,TheBathroomGirl, wrote on his account when she sang this at YouTube. Read on and listen to her song.
This song was written around the time of the Burma Cyclone and China's earthquake last year. I was so touched that the song poured out with my tears and I sung it at fundraising events for both tragedies.
The ongoing Gaza tragedy bought this song to life for me once more and I guess what I'm trying to say is that, if something's bothering you or making you feel restless, don't try to ignore it... Being grateful and putting your problems in perspective is a good start to being happy, but I think we need to actively help others to be truly happy.
It is a new charity called Restless Beings, founded and run by good friends of mine. They are brilliant, determined, and have pure hearts of gold. I'm proud to be associated with them.
Even if you have no money to giv,e it's not a problem. Just read up on their projects, keep them in mind, if you have any skills or ideas you can give, they would love to hear from you!
RESTLESS (lyrics)
God, can you hear me?
I feel so alone.
I don't know if help is coming.
Do they even know?Surely if they knew they'd come running
If only they knew, they'd give everything to me.
Chorus:
I am restless, as I toss and turn,
Try to tell myself that 'it's not my concern'
So I live my life, count my blessings everyday,
And that's all I can do... Anyway..
Skies are falling across the world
I think I can hear my calling
but I'm just a girl'Cos in my bubble,
when there's trouble I float away
High above, above it all... watching skies fall.. watching skies fall
I am pacing in and out of my conscience.
They are waiting for me to come to my senses.
We're hesistating, and God's wondering 'why?'...
Brothers and sisters come together and hold up falling skies...
Hey, can you hear me?
You're not alone.
Help is on its way,
so rest and take it slow,'
Cos there are people caring for you across the world
and they will try against the odds
To hold up falling skies... to hold up falling skies.
You don't have to say Ahhh-uhhhmmnn. Yoga really works! What I like best is it helps you align your body and corrects your posture. I'm adding this to encourage me to contineu what I started. Pray for me hehehe...
What a phenomenon! While its amazing to witness such a number of dolphins swarming the Philippines' sea, its quite alarming too if this is another ill effect of global warming. I just hope it's not. Hoping also that all these dolphins are well and life would go back to normal for all of them.
Here's an inspiring video I saw from my email yesterday. It was sent by Angel Network. I can't remember how I came to subscribe "Inspirational Newsletters" from them . But, I know why I did. I love this work of theirs: Interview With God (Original). I can't directly post the video here, embedding was disabled, so please click the link. I hope you'll find time to watch both videos. Its really good!
Juggling thoughts - must write. Proud Igorota from the mountains of Tublay Benguet and Baguio City, Philippines. A mother and wife nesting in Venice Italy.
