IN THE ZONE

Makes me laugh every time my husband says, "I'm in the zone" as he does the "rapper's thing" with his hands. I thought of starting with this "zone-zone" to keep me punching these keys and get back to the zone.

Before sounding like a nitwit, this blog's template is giving me a headache. I can't make it have three columns and in attempt of doing so, I lost most of the "blings" on the side bar. Help!

WHAT 'DONNA' WANTS

'Donna'(woman), she reckons herself. "I think I'll "waive" my attempts to stand for Venus! To embody her being is enigmatic. This goddess' kind has all the power to turn ambivalence to their advantage. They are sometimes vicious or so I think." she started. "You see, I can't even understand what I have just said"! as she heartily laughed typing her thoughts.

Weeks before she'll turn 34, she told her husband, "No celebration, no gifts, no food. Just a quiet night with all my boys!". Which her husband readily submitted to thinking it would be too tiring for his wife to do the "usual". Usual as in inviting friends and family. One thing she lived up with having a birthday that falls on Valentines Day, everyone remembers. "Besides, I'm getting old. Its no longer fun adding the numbers", she convinced herself.

Her big day came and the husband went to work. NO "Happy birthday Hon!" NOT even a text message of "Happy Heart's Day" for her. "Oh, he is up to something", she tried to think as an excuse. Ten o'clock, lunch break and the phone never rang. " I said no celebration, not totally forget about it!", she told herself with her eyebrows now crooked.
The door opened and the husband came. "Look! He has nothing, not even a single rose!", in her mind the voices spoke. Still no greeting but the husband asked, "Adu ba nag-greet kenka?(Were there a lot who greeted you). She said yes and told him about her Daddy's phone call. She added, "Dad had pinikpikan and pancit. You know, a simple Valentines feast for them ". The husband answered, "You really are special to Dad. He cooked those for you!"
Earlier that day her sister said she'll be coming over. "Good, she'll babysit so we could go with our original plan a month ago. If someone will stay with the kids we'll dine out." she gladly thought. Then her other sister called to greet but was upset because her kids were sick. "Maybe it would be better if Ica goes to you, you need her more for help", she told her other sister. So, dinner for two was crossed out.
4 PM, 5 PM, 6PM, 7PM...She's counting the time. "Naah-ah, he took my words for it. Oh well, its what I asked for.", she now succumbed her defeat. She then started to cook for dinner but the husband said, "I thought we're ordering pizza?"... She saw light and rays of hope! "Yeah, brilliant! Had that almost two months ago. Now, I'm craving for it.", as the voices spoke happily in her mind.
Her son jumping saying, "Pizza! Pizza! Pizza and fries!" was enough to draw that joy for the day. And, ALAS it came! A humongous pizza with 2 variety of toppings on each side.
Then to her surprise the cake and the flowers came too. Her husband is holding 'em as he sings the birthday song. And there's more, a bag from Solaris which she opened. She took out first the membership card which she thought was a gift certificate for the spa. But, the card turned out to be a one year guarantee for the signatured sunglasses she thinks is too much for a luxury.
Maybe the food had cast it's spell, her little boys slept early and soundly - what a gift. "Hon, this is my best birthday ever!" she whispered to her husband before she affirmed it with a long and passionate kiss. "I am very happy", she added in between...
Tell me, isn't she harebrained sometimes? What she says, she doesn't mean and you'll get to pay when you haven't sensed it right. " It takes a real man to know what donna wants", she wants to believe. "I'll have my revenge!", she now ends.

BOOGIE REMEMBERS SONY

When Boogie writes an entry to his blog, he makes me his first reader before he sends it to the web.

Remembering Sony, my husband's latest post made me cry not because I lost my cousin. It made me weep for all the Filipinos who had to leave their homes just to seek better lives elsewhere. Doctors, nurses, maids and any professions alike, still its work in a country not their own.

Euros and dollars may have built houses and buildings for many of the our OFW's back in the Philippines. But, those are hardly earned trophies twined with sweat of blood that people back home often mistook.

This morning I opened my email and have known from Princess Lea's message that Boog's article was published at Sun Star Baguio. Its his second blog entry that made it HERE:

SUN STAR BAGUIO

Sun Star Baguio had published my husband's first entry on his blog. "My First Born And His Fear Of Boats " made it to the papers HERE:

I was so excited as I searched for my mobile phone to call up Boogie who was on his way to work. I have to tell him about the Sun Star news. I found my phone under the sofa and it was off. Strange. I just charged it last night. I switched it on and "Enter PUK Code" flashed. Deng, I have no idea where I kept my SIM's data. Boog's might have kept it. So, I have to call and use the land phone that will us cost much.

Mama:
Lukie!!!

Lukie: (came from the bedroom) Si (yes) Mama?

Mama: Did you switch off my phone?

Lukie: Si ma', non si re arriva(Yes, but it does not come back). I was trying to fix it for you Mama!

"Our first born"
is in to fixing things for us lately. Now, I have to buy another Sim card as I don't know where to find my PUK code.

Two weeks ago, I switched off the computer and I forgot to take off the camera's memory card. (Danger!) We almost lost all our files and all the photos stored in the PC. Boogie was able to save most of it except the original copies of my blog entries. He had to do so many reinstalling and the only damage made by my mistake was we didn't have audio until yesterday.

Same week, Lukie and Dylan dropped the PlayStation when they were having a "tag of war" with the joy stick. Boogie took it to the repair shop.

As if things were meant to happen the same week
, I pressed the Magic Mic's power too hard that the button was embedded and stuck inside. So we can't sing but its good Boogie was able to open and fix it. But, he has to do "the process" before we could use this mic.

Every time my husband gives our kisses and leaves for work, he tells us this, "I'll go guys, try not to break something please!"

Mama:(thinking) Yeah great, I'm SOOO really included! I envy the cavemen's life. How did they do it?

GROUND

I prefer walking around the house barefooted. Its one of the things you do when you want to really feel at home. With this, I never fail to touch our kitchen stove or the oven ending up electrocuted. I meant with the "ground" (Bzzztttt!!!), where your body jerks pulling out a shrieking sound that the voltage shock crack out from you. Lately, its a normal scenario that sends Boogie and Lukie to the kitchen.

By the way we don't have rats nor cockroaches in the house. The cartoon might be sending the wrong message hahaha...(keeps me wondering though - why I haven't seen one in my entire stay here).

Mama: Aaargghhh!!!!!

Boogie: What happened? (who came from the bedroom
and still asks when he knew why)

Mama: Ground!!!

Lukie: Don't worry Mama, you'll be OK. (with a sympathetic look)

Mama: Si Amore, grazie!

Boogie: 'Am'mom gamin nga adda ground, nasaka-saka ka pay laeng!' (You knew that there is a ground but you're still with your bare feet).

Later that day as I was giving Lukie his bath, I asked the husband to boil a pot of water for our son's pasta.

Boogie: 'Aaargghhh! Oh mennn!' (note: shouted from the kitchen louder than mine).

He then came to the bathroom smiling and said:

Boogie: 'Ayeh hon, 'grabe gayam' (its strong)! It was my ear that touched the oven as I was bending for the bin. Its like my ear was about to split.

Mama: 'Nakasaka-saka ka gayam' (You were bare footed that's why).

Then our laugh chorused.

Boogie: Nakarma ak ketdin(I had a bad karma).

Mama: Yeah, what goes around, comes around!

Our uncontrollable chuckles left our son staring at us with the look: My folks are nuts!

(note: while laughing, I saw my feet wearing Boogie's slippers)
